List of Approved OAS CAHPS Survey Vendors Now Available

A list of CMS-approved OAS CAHPS Survey vendors is available by clicking the “Approved Survey Vendors” link under the General Information menu on this website. The OAS CAHPS Survey Coordination Team will update the list of approved vendors as soon as additional survey vendors have been granted approval.

Medicare-certified hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) should note the following.

• The voluntary national implementation phase of OAS CAHPS begins in January 2016
• Starting in January, HOPDs and ASCs interested in participating in this voluntary phase of OAS CAHPS can select and contract with a CMS-approved OAS CAHPS Survey vendor to administer the OAS CAHPS Survey on their behalf in calendar year (CY) 2016 and in subsequent years.
• CMS-approved survey vendors will administer the survey on behalf of participating HOPDs and ASCs and submit the data to the OAS CAHPS Data Center on their behalf.
• After selecting and contracting with one of the CMS-approved survey vendors to administer the OAS CAHPS Survey on its behalf, each HOPD and ASC must complete the online “Authorize a Vendor” Form, which will be available on the OAS CAHPS website in early January 2016.
