The Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment Systems and Quality Reporting Programs Proposed Rule is scheduled to be published on the Federal Register on July 14, 2016. A preview (or “unpublished” version) of the Proposed Rule is available through the link provided here.

Note that this rule is combined with other programs. Documentation of the OAS CAHPS Survey and the applicable payment determination for Medicare-certified hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) begins on page 465, and documentation for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) begins on page 521. This Proposed Rule indicates the voluntary reporting period for the OAS CAHPS Survey will continue through 2017.
