Registration Now Open for the Introduction to the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery CAHPS Survey Webinar Training Sessions

Registration is now open for the two-part Introduction to the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery CAHPS (OAS CAHPS) Survey webinar training.

  • The Introduction training will take place on November 15 and 16, 2016.
  • Session I will be held once on November 15th and Session II will be held once on November 16th.
  • Both sessions will be held from 1:00PM to 5:00PM Eastern Time.
  • Organizations wishing to become OAS CAHPS Survey approved vendors must have (at a minimum) their designated OAS CAHPS Survey Project Manager register below to attend both Session I and Session II.
  • Registration will close at 5:00 PM Eastern Time on November 14, 2016.

The survey vendor’s staff member designated as the Project Manager for the OAS CAHPS Survey must attend these trainings; we strongly advise that the vendor’s sampling and data managers also attend. If a vendor organization’s subcontractor will conduct substantive work to support the implementation of the OAS CAHPS Survey, that subcontractor is strongly encouraged to attend training as well.

Staff from hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, health care organizations, and other organizations interested in the implementation of the OAS CAHPS Survey may attend training as well.

To register, please complete the Training Registration Form.

In addition to attending the two-part Introduction training session, organizations interested in becoming approved OAS CAHPS Survey Vendors must complete the following tasks:

  • Review the Minimum Business Requirements.
  • Complete and submit an online Vendor Registration Form.
  • Complete and submit an online Vendor Application, which will be accessible through the Vendor Dashboard once the Vendor Registration Form has been completed.
  • Designate a staff member as the OAS CAHPS Project Manager who will serve as the OAS CAHPS Survey Administrator.
  • Have the designated OAS CAHPS Project Manager/Survey Administrator successfully complete an online training certification after participating in both sessions of the Introduction training have ended.
  • Complete and submit a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) within 6 weeks after the vendor’s first quarterly data submission. Update (as needed) and resubmit the QAP annually to the OAS CAHPS Survey Coordination Team.
  • Participate in all oversight activities conducted by the OAS CAHPS Survey Coordination Team, including but not limited to conference calls and site visits, as deemed necessary.
  • Agree to implement the OAS CAHPS Survey using standardized protocols and procedures described in the OAS CAHPS Survey Protocols and Guidelines Manual available under Survey Materials.

Survey Vendors who have already been approved to conduct the OAS CAHPS Survey are not required to attend the Introduction training. Approved survey vendors are required to attend the OAS CAHPS Survey Update Training Session, which will be held via Webinar on Thursday, November 17th, 2016.
