Notice of Publication of the Final Rule for Calendar Year 2021

The Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment Systems and Quality Reporting Programs Final Rule has been published in the Federal Register today, December 29, 2020. The Final Rule is available here.

As stated in the Rule, CMS plans continue the voluntary participation period for OAS CAHPS throughout 2021. The next update (CY 2022 Rule) will be proposed in July and finalized in November 2021. The CY 2022 Rule will reflect any changes that would impact the 2022 data collection period (CY 2024 payment determination).
