Impact of COVID-19 on the OAS CAHPS Survey

The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued a press release regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the CMS Quality Programs. Since participation in the OAS CAHPS Survey is currently voluntary for hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs) and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), it is up to the outpatient facilities and their vendors to determine if they will continue to participate for the months impacted by COVID-19. Please note that CMS recognizes the impact that the COVID-19 outbreak may have on OAS CAHPS Survey vendors' survey operations and wishes to reiterate the necessity of protecting staff's personal health and safety.
