Guidance on Providing Response Data for About You Questions (Q36 and Q37) to Client Facilities
folder_openOther Announcementscalendar_todayPosted February 16, 2017

Chapter VIII of the OAS CAHPS Survey Protocols and Guidelines Manual states that for questions in the About You section, de-identified response data can only be reported to facilities if there are 11 or more responses in each response category. However, there are two questions in the “About You” section (Questions 36 and 37) that do not require this restriction. Questions 36 and 37 are proxy questions that collect information about who helped the patient complete the mail survey and how they helped. Effective immediately, the “11 responses” rule only applies to the About You Questions (Questions 25–35).

Please contact the Coordination Team via e-mail at oascahps@rti.org or call toll-free (866) 590-7468, if you have any questions.
